We conduct Bible surveys in Emporia, VA. One of the questions that seem to get people’s attention is how many churches did Jesus promise to build? People are quick to confuse the building with the church. The correct answer is one. Matthew 16:18.
Most members of the churches of Christ have an appreciation for the word of God.
As you study God’s word you will gain a deep appreciation for it’s simplicity. Some has stated that the Bible is written on a third grade level. Not sure if that’s true or not, I do know that most people can understand it. There are many Bible topics that can be discussed. Feel free to leave a comment if you have a particular subject in mind.
One saying we have in the Lord’s church is give book, chapter and verse! That’s a good answer to the question. What does the church of Christ believe? We must remember that God did not base His word off of our feelings or traditions. It’s up to all of us to pattern our worship, lives, designation for churches, after His word. That is the only way to be pleasing to him. Grady Jones
